Sound that guides. Our Audio UX article in NowyMarketing

Aleksandra Chróst-Nowakowska of Soundize™ writes in NowyMarketing about eyes-free navigation and the future of Audio UX - and why, in a world without screens, sound takes over as the main navigator.

Polish marketing portal NowyMarketing has published an expert article by Aleksandra Chróst-Nowakowska, Managing Partner at Soundize™: „Dźwięk, który prowadzi. O nawigacji bezwzrokowej i przyszłości Audio UX" (Sound that guides. On eyes-free navigation and the future of Audio UX - in Polish).

Interfaces built for the eyes alone are running out of road, and more and more of our interaction with technology happens without looking at a screen. Behind the wheel, on a run, in a warehouse or in a crowd - wherever sight and attention are taken, sound has to take over as the main navigator.

In the article, Aleksandra shows how that kind of sound is designed, with examples including:

  • mobility and driver navigation apps - Freenow by Lyft and Yanosik,
  • solutions that give blind and low-vision people independence - Microsoft Soundscape and Google Running Guide,
  • uses in logistics, sport and events, including Sonic Gateway for eBilet, which we designed at Soundize™.

Sound is a design responsibility, not an add-on.

It continues our series on Audio UX - designing sound that delivers usability and brand experience at the same time.
